Anglican Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity
Hamilton, BermudaBishop organ, new Kegg console
Pipe Organ SpecificationsAnglican Cathedral of The Most Holy Trinity
Hamilton, Bermuda
This Honduran mahogany console features carving inspired by existing work in the Cathedral which was done in the early 1900s. Corbels under the keydesk feature parrots. The tops of the console cheeks and the edge of the console top have a vine and flower motif. Mahogany was chosen because of its resistance to insects, common in Bermuda, and all fasteners are stainless steel to resist corrosion. Also of note are the mappa burl fields behind the drawknobs. Parrot and vine carvings are by Wood Sculpture by Spirit. Panel tracery has been cut and carved by Phil Brown of the Kegg company.
This console and new switching system installation was completed February 22, 2008.
