St. Peter Catholic Church
Canton, Ohio
This new organ enjoys an ideal placement in a stunning acoustic. It retains some stops from the previous instrument. The case is from a 1916 instrument that was distributed in three cases in the gallery. The two side cases are empty and have been since the 1960s. The center facade was removed in the 1960s. The new center facade is designed to reflect and complement the original 1916 cases and facades.
The new organ is 21 ranks including the existing Echo division which was retained. The Echo division is located behind the High Altar. Please click below for the specification.
Here is the computer rendering done to show the church what the new facade would look like.
We are grateful to Fr.Edward Beneleit, Pastor, and Mr. Robert Sullivan, Director of Music for their continued support in this exciting project. The dedication concert was presented by Dr. John Schwandt on May 1, 2016.
Here you see Fr. Beneleit along with choir members Janice & Anthony DiAntonio and Jerry Moyers when they toured the Kegg shop to see the progress on the new organ. The St. Peter's console is in the foreground.
